FeralTech CellExtender
The FeralTech CellExtender is a
portable mobile repeater that utilises the Cel-Fi Go Smart Signal Repeater
manufactured by Nextivity and with an industry-leading 100 dB system
gain.
Compatible on all Australian 3G and 4G telecommunication networks, the CellExtender is a small, compact, easy to move piece of gear perfect when your camera or trap is just out of mobile range (for example in a gully where the ridgeline itself creates a mobile black spot).
This kit will boost mobile phone signal in multiple directions when paired with a donor omnidirectional antenna (several sizes are available and sold separately) or in a straight line when paired with a Yagi directional antenna (also sold separately in available in a variety of sizes).
Includes a waterproof case and DC CLA (Cigarette Lighter Plug) power lead as well as prewired for external solar and antenna options and includes a separate on/off switch with inline fuse.
To operate a CellExtender in the field you will also require (all sold separately):
- One donor antenna and at least one service antenna (multiple antennas for example to boost signal in two direct directions) can be accommodated.
- In situations where there is no mobile coverage where the CellExtender is to be located, a single donor (incoming) antenna (such as a large Yagi) is pointed towards the most suitable closest mobile tower. Service antenna are then used to send the mobile signal out to mobile devices.
- Where
there is mobile coverage where the CellExetnder is placed, you can utilise a smaller omnidirectional antenna is used as the donor antenna along with any service antenna that might be required.
- A power
supply solution such as an external 12V battery (Century Maine Pro Battery) housed in a battery
box (Braintech Power Battery Box) and solar panel (XTM 160W Folding Solar Panel).
- Antenna
cabling which can be custom made to length depending on chosen mounting options
and heights, number and use of splitters and coaxial connectors.
